Danish Furniture Production – Genuine Materials, Responsibly Made
At Bruunmunch, production begins with a simple principle: we only work with genuine materials. No imitations, no shortcuts — just solid wood, real leather, quality textiles, and steel, sourced from suppliers we have carefully selected and trust completely. It is a slower way of making furniture, but it is the only way to create pieces that last for generations.
Solid wood is at the heart of everything we make. It is a living material that demands experience and respect, and our craftsmen work with it every day — from the first cut to the final hand-finished surface. Alongside the woodwork, upholstery is a core discipline in our production, and we maintain close partnerships with the leading textile houses to ensure that every fabric meets our standards for quality, durability, and beauty. Leather and steel complete our material palette, each chosen with the same care.
Just as important as the materials are the people behind them. We believe in long-term partnerships, and many of our suppliers have been with us for the past 15 years. These are solid, dependable partners who know our standards and share our values — relationships built over time, not found overnight. When you know exactly where every material comes from, you can stand behind every piece of furniture you make.
Sustainability is woven into every choice. We use FSC®-certified wood, OEKO-TEX®-certified foam, and all the textiles and leathers in our collection are certified as well. But responsibility goes beyond certificates: it matters to us that our furniture is made in proper factories where employees are treated well, and by partners who actively work to reduce their CO2 emissions and environmental footprint.
For us, sustainability is not a marketing message — it is the natural consequence of how we have always worked: genuine materials, trusted partners, and furniture made to be used, loved, and passed on.
Solid Wood Tables – Crafted in Årre, West Jutland
Our solid wood tables are produced in Årre in West Jutland, at one of Denmark's absolute finest furniture factories. It is here that skilled hands and generations of woodworking knowledge turn carefully selected timber into the tables our brand is known for — made in Denmark, in the truest sense of the words.
We work in two of the world's most beautiful hardwoods: European oak and American walnut. The oak is available in oiled, soap-treated and white-oiled finishes, as well as smoked oak — each treatment bringing out its own character in the grain, from light and Nordic to deep and dramatic. Every plank is carefully selected and correctly dried before production begins, because in solid wood, quality is decided long before the first cut.
The entire process is closely monitored from start to finish. Every table is thoroughly inspected before it leaves the factory, so what arrives at your home meets the standard we insist on — nothing less. This is not furniture that passes through a production line unseen; it is furniture that passes through experienced hands, every single time.
Every table is made to order. This allows us to accommodate the specific wishes and needs of our customers — your table is not taken from a shelf, but built for you, from the moment you place your order. It takes a little longer, but the result is a table made with intention: your wood, your finish, your table, crafted in Denmark and made to be passed on.
Upholstered Furniture – Handcrafted in Poznań, Poland
All our upholstered furniture is produced in Poznań, Poland, at one of Europe's leading upholstery manufacturers. Poznań is home to some of the finest upholstery craftsmanship on the continent, and it is here that our chairs and sofas take shape — piece by piece, in the hands of experienced upholsterers.
Every piece of furniture is made by hand. Upholstery is a discipline where machines can only take you so far; the tension of a fabric, the fall of a seam, the firmness of a cushion — these are judgements that require a trained eye and years of experience. That is exactly what our partner in Poznań delivers, on every single piece.
Before any piece of furniture leaves the factory, it goes through strict quality assurance. Every detail is checked — stitching, padding, frame and finish — so that what arrives at your home meets the standard we insist on. Nothing is shipped until it has passed through experienced hands and critical eyes.
The materials deserve the same care as the craftsmanship. We collaborate with the largest textile mills and leading leather producers in Europe — primarily Danish houses — all of whom share our commitment to sustainability. It means that the fabric under your hand and the leather you sit on come from suppliers we know, trust and are proud to work with — quality you can feel, from the frame to the final stitch.
Steel Production – Made in Denmark, Built with Precision
Steel plays a quiet but essential role in our furniture. It is the material that carries the design — the bases and frames that give our furniture its strength, stability and clean lines. Where wood brings warmth and leather brings character, steel brings precision — and it demands the same standards as everything else we make.
All our steel components are produced in Denmark, in North Jutland — a region with a proud tradition of skilled metalwork. Keeping this part of our production in Denmark is a deliberate choice: it gives us short distances, close dialogue and full control over quality, and it means that the steel in our furniture is made by people who share our understanding of what Danish design demands.
In furniture, millimetres matter. A base must sit perfectly level, a swivel must turn effortlessly, and every surface must be as beautiful as it is strong. That is why each component is crafted with tight tolerances and finished to withstand years of daily use — steelwork you rarely notice, precisely because it is done right.
As with everything we make, nothing moves on to assembly until it has been thoroughly checked — dimensions, finish and function. Like all our suppliers, our steel partner is chosen for the long term: a solid, dependable relationship built on shared standards, so that the steel in your furniture lives up to the wood and leather it is paired with.
