PLAYdinner Lamé 180, 230 & 280 Dining Table
PLAYdinner Lamé – Dining Table 180, 230 & 280 cm
Designed by: Henrik Bruun & Jacob Munch
Superellipse-shaped solid wood dining table
The PLAYdinner Lamé is a sculptural Danish-designed dining table inspired by the geometric discoveries of French physicist and mathematician Gabriel Lamé. Its characteristic superellipse shape lies beautifully between a rectangle and a circle, creating a harmonious form that naturally brings people together. The soft curves encourage conversation and connection – making the table an inviting centerpiece for both dining and dialogue.
This fixed version of the PLAYdinner Lamé, available in 180, 230, and 280 cm, stands out through its remarkable craftsmanship. The tabletop is constructed from continuous solid wood slats, allowing the grain to run uninterrupted along the full length of the table. This detail gives the surface a calm, cohesive appearance that celebrates the natural beauty of the wood and distinguishes it from the extendable version.
Handmade in Denmark from FSC® certified oak or walnut, each PLAYdinner Lamé table showcases the warmth, texture, and timeless appeal of solid wood. The design pairs effortlessly with most classic and contemporary dining chairs, making it ideal for homes, restaurants, and meeting spaces that value both aesthetics and quality.
The PLAYdinner Lamé is available in three fixed lengths – 180, 230, and 280 cm – seating between 6 and 12 people comfortably, depending on size and chair choice.
In 2022, the PLAYdinner Lamé celebrated its 10-year anniversary and was awarded Best of Design by Germany’s leading lifestyle magazine Schöner Wohnen, confirming its status as a modern Danish design classic.

Solid Wood
Being a natural material, each wooden piece of furniture is inherently unique. Over time, wood undergoes a transformative process, its colors and textures evolve, bestowing the furniture with a beautiful patina. Grain patterns, knots, and color variations are all natural hallmarks of wood.
Daily Maintenance
Daily cleaning is easily done with a well-wrung cloth in clean water. Do not use chemicals, detergents, scouring pads, steel wool or similar, as these will discolour or damage the surface.
Care
It is important that you regularly maintain your oiled or soap treated furniture. We recommend that you treat your furniture 2-4 times a year or according to need.

Their commitment to quality and tradition is as unwavering as the day they began.

When nature inspires
We chose to do a photo shoot with Anders Schønnemann and Lene Ostenfeldt to create an identity that fits our roots from the West Coast. The visit to the Wadden Sea Centre in Ribe revealed how nature and its materials can inspire innovative design. The Centre's architecture, which integrates natural materials like wood, illustrates the potential of these elements to enhance modern construction and design. This setting shows that the raw, natural forms found in materials used for furniture, such as wood and stone, can lead to designs that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
The sculptural quality of the Wadden Sea Centre itself provides inspiration for furniture design, suggesting that elements of architecture can be abstracted to discover new forms and designs. Viewing these structures from different perspectives or in different lights can lead to creative interpretations that blend the man-made with the natural, enhancing both our physical and visual environments. This approach proves that when design draws on nature, it can achieve beauty that is both practical and inspiring.
