The Original Lobster Chair, designed by the acclaimed Danish duo Lund & Paarmann, is a true Danish design icon that combines sculptural elegance with exceptional comfort. Recognized for its distinctive organic silhouette and embracing form, the Lobster Chair has become a modern classic since its introduction in 2008 — admired for both its visual presence and extraordinary seating experience.

With its signature walnut veneer back, luxurious leather upholstery, and elegant steel base, the chair balances natural warmth with refined modernity. The shell is handcrafted in Europe from molded walnut veneer, shaped from seven precision-cut veneer pieces that together create the chair’s flowing and protective form inspired by the exoskeleton of a lobster. The inside is upholstered with Oeko-Tex® certified cold-cured foam, offering sublime seating comfort with soft yet supportive ergonomics that invite long moments of relaxation.

The chair is available upholstered in both exclusive Davos Aniline Leather and refined Semi-Aniline Leather, each carefully selected for its natural beauty, tactile softness, and durability. Over time, the leather develops a rich and elegant patina that enhances the character of the chair and reflects the authenticity of the material.

The base is available in either black powder-coated steel for a bold and contemporary expression or satin chrome stainless steel for a lighter and more refined aesthetic. Both versions feature a 360° swivel function and the Lobster Chair’s signature suspension construction, which adds a subtle floating sensation and elevates the already exceptional comfort.

As a natural material, leather requires looking after. If you care for the leather in the right way, it will become even more beautiful over time.

The care and maintenance of leather will always depend on the specific way in which it is used, the conditions of use and how often it is used.

Passion Leather

Vacuum clean once or twice a month with a soft brush to remove any dust. Once or twice a year for thorough cleaning, use the foam from soap flakes stirred in warm water. Apply the foam with a dry soft cloth, minimizing any contact with water. Avoid bar soap, saddle soap, leather cleaners, household detergents or chemical products. Protect from direct sunlight, excessive heat and sharp objects.

Lacquered Veneer

Molded veneer, finished with a layer of clear lacquer. Veneer is a natural material, and as a result, colors and grain patterns may vary from one piece of furniture to another. The surface develops a patina over time. Protect it from direct sunlight and sharp objects.

Never use abrasive cleaners, including steel wool and polish, on veneer.

For daily cleaning, wipe the furniture with a clean, damp cloth. Stains and dirt can be removed with a solution of warm water and all-purpose cleaner. Immediately remove excess water and dry with a clean, dry cloth to prevent watermarks.

Powder-Coated Steel

Regularly dust off with a soft, dry cloth.

Satin Chrome-Plated Stainless Steel

Chrome surfaces are resistant to dirt and liquids.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Clean the surface with a dry or damp cloth wrung out in soapy water. Wipe dry with a soft cloth.
